So ten years ago today, my husband and I formed a romantic relationship. That sounds kinda goofy but oh well. Anyway. Ten years ago today, my husband moved into a house w/ two other Marines (whom I was friends with) to rent together. They were just tired of living in the barracks so decided to go in on a three bedroom home and split the costs.
J and P had already moved in at that point – so the day my Jason was moving in, I was already there hanging out w/ J, P, and some other friends. When my unsociable husband finished bringing his belongings in, he went to his room and just stayed there by himself while the rest of us hung out and talked in the living room watching something on TV.
So me in all my flirtatious glory, went back to his bedroom and begged and pleaded with him to come hang out with the rest of us. It took me a while, but I finally won. That night, we talked for HOURS about everything. I don’t even remember what exactly we talked about – we just talked. I just looked in his eyes and was instantly in love with him.
6 months and 2 days later, we were married at the Justice of the Peace. It wasn’t a big ritzy, glamorous ceremony. But it was just right for Jason and I. I love him more now than I did the day we married.
As for the title – well whenever anyone asks how we met, he says, “She came w/ the house.” LOL!
I love you, Baby!
So, my husband and I like to often think back to when the kids were toddlers. They often said some really funny things.
Connor used to say, “Mommy!!! I have a bleet!” That is translated to, “Mommy, I’m bleeding!” Ha ha ha.
Zachary used to say, “Mommy, I think I have a hot.” That is translated to, “Mommy, I think I have a fever…” You know, because us parents say, “Is he hot?” “Is he warm?”
And my most favorite… Kylie… If the bath water was too hot, Kylie would lower herself into the water and say, “OOOOOOOOOOUCH! MOMMY!!! The WATER IS SPICY ON MY BUTT!”
Oh toddlerhood…. I miss it…
Jason and I have some friends, Bob and Beth, who have an almost 1 year old little man, Joseph. I just love him. Anyway, Beth asked me to help her make Joey a white shirt and white pants for his dedication and first birthday. The project was a little frustrating for me as I had never done a shirt or pants before. But I finally finished it. Isn’t it/he cute!?!??!

And one more but it’s just Joey playing. He’s so stinkin cute.

Before we left for Texas, I had just finished up a new dress for Kylie. This was, by far, the most complicated sewing project I’ve done. It took me 2 weeks. Well – I should clarify – it was an on and off thing. I would sew, get frustrated and quit for a day or two. And I’d repeat that several times for 2 weeks. Ha ha. So here it is:

So yes, the dress is SUPER big on her which is why I had to wrap the tie around the front first. Hopefully she’ll get several years of use out of this dress. Ha ha ha!
Okay, I’ll be honest. Not EVERYTHING is bigger in Texas. In Giddings, TX there’s the smallest Wal-Mart I’ve ever seen. The trees are definitely bigger in NC.
We just took a trip to Elgin (about 30 min from Austin), TX to visit some family. Coming from NC – that’s a 2 day trip if you’re weinies like us and don’t want to drive 23 hours straight through. So we left NC on June 4th and got there on June 5th fairly early. I’d like to point out too, whoever said vacation is relaxing is a big fat liar. It’s EXHAUSTING!
Anyway – we had a really good time and can’t wait to make it back out there sometime! Here are some pictures from our trip. Most of them are from Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio. It was SO hot that day! But we had SO much fun at the park!
Well… ‘creations’ should be used loosely as I followed a pattern that’s NOT my creation… LOL! Anyway, I was on a mission several weeks ago to make Kylie an Easter dress. The first dress I made for her was:

That dress still needing hemming…
Anyway, after that was finished, I decided that I wanted to do something different. So I purchased the pattern and fabric and this is now her Easter dress. She can’t wait to wear it!

Despite the look on her face, she absolutely LOVES it! She can’t wait to wear it next Sunday!
